This year we celebrate the 300th anniversary of Giacomo Casanova with a special edition dedicated to him and entitled ‘Il tempo di Casanova’.
On Friday 14 February, the special Grand Opening ‘Valentine's Day’ in St. Mark's Square and, as per tradition, a long series of events will run through the city for the duration of the event:
Water parade of traditional boats - 16 February;
Carnival Official dinner show - 22 and 23 February and from 27 February to 4 March;
Arsenale water show;
Venice Carnival Street Show;

One of the Venetians' most heartfelt festivities, in which the religious and spectacular aspects coexist.
A fantastic fireworks display in St Mark's Basin to commemorate the end of the terrible plague epidemic that struck the city of Venice between 1575 and 1577.

It is the longest firework display in the world.
Every year, towards the end of August, the beach at Cavallino Treporti is transformed into a natural stage to celebrate the end of summer. The event involves numerous bathing establishments along 13 kilometres of coastline, synchronising the fireworks in a breathtaking display that lights up the sky and reflects on the waters of the sea.

The Regata Storica takes place every year on the first Sunday in September.
It is one of the most spectacular, picturesque and enthralling moments of city life, followed in particular by the Venetians who gather along the banks of the Grand Canal, but which now fascinates and brings together visitors from all over the world.
